Review on Simple&Opulence 100% Washed Linen Duvet Cover: Enhance Your Bedding with Pure Luxury by Rachel Flores

Good quality product with some imperfections

I was ready to love almost any linen duvet cover and after much research on linen fabrics and comparing brands I settled on this particular set from Simple & Opulence. What drew me in were the overlays that came with it, plus the Belgian linen, plus the embroidered edges. It has all of those things to be honest and I would have given it five stars if it hadn't had a few issues. However, I think the three stars are fair and will hopefully allow those who come after me to get a better idea of what they are getting. on the package. At the time of my purchase, the seller advertised 90" x 92". In fact, I measured 88 x 92 inches. It was also the size stated on the actual packaging. Two inches wide might not sound like a big deal, but after scouring the internet for a cover to fit my duvet (duvets don't come in standard sizes - who would have thought?), I was a bit disappointed by the inaccuracy. Here comes the first star. Now I will describe the bedding itself. Both fretboards have a 2 inch bleed on the edges that wraps around all four sides. The insert for pillows is in the center of the back, merging one side into the other. The blanket I received is really beautiful. I bought the natural color of linen, the fabric is shiny and soft. There are a few joints in the fabric, but overall very good for this price range. The embroidery is satin and grey-grey on a natural cover. The two sides and bottom of the cover have a rim, but the top edge does not. Personally, I really liked the liner hole, which is on the underside of the foot. This is a button closure, but hidden from prying eyes by a fabric tab. In fact, it was this thoughtful design that convinced me to keep it despite its size. Before putting it on the bed, I decided to wash it. Unfortunately, at this point I noticed a brownish stain on the top layer of fabric, as if someone had spilled tea on it. As a Prime member I immediately decided to see if it could be returned, which it was. I really didn't want to bother with returning it and looking for a new one, so I decided to treat the stain several times with white vinegar and a mild detergent. After six treatments with vinegar and then dish soap, dabbing with water in between, the stain was gone. Thank God. However, I deducted the second star because of the stain. To;dr: The size of the duvet cover did not match what was advertised and there was a stain on the cover. Minus two stars for problems, three stars left for design, looks and because most people probably won't get the stain.
