It doesn't work - you need to get it right and make sure it charges!

I've bought a lot of iPhone chargers, I have a 10R and two 12's, these cables suck - there are a lot better ones out there, you spend more time checking the phone to make sure it's working is charged, you will not wake up the next day with a dead battery! horrible
