Review on πŸ“š HUANUO Lap Desk - 17" Laptop Desk with Built-in Mouse Pad & Wrist Pad, Tablet & MacBook Stand, Pen & Phone Holder - Wood Grain by Marco Hubbard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not the best option for a bent-at-the-knee recliner laptop, but still useful and well-made.

Let's get straight to the point, shall we? I've spent a lot of time browsing the desktop and mouse pad options here in a variety of sizes, styles, and prices. I chose this particular desk (with a lighter wood veneer) because it's very stylish, actually goes well with my home decor (so it's not awkward when guests come and go) and the lap cushions gave it a little raised angle for better working ergonomics when seated. It's very light, the palm rest is a comfortable padding with a strong but soft foam core; no microspheres or memory foam. Made in China but the finish seems well done. Put simply, it looks classy. MY CONS: As shown, I have a 15" laptop that overlaps the mouse pad by about 1.5"; maybe less if I put my laptop all the way to the left, but then I lose some wrist support. This still gives me enough room to have enough mouse movements for my coding needs. If you think you can use a 17-inch laptop on this lap table, plan on sacrificing almost all of your mouse pad and maybe even your phone slot. The mousepad's textured leather looks nice, but creates more friction than I'd like, and the raised plastic edges really don't stop the mouse from slipping at more extreme angles. on the top, but it's not really a big deal. I don't use a tablet slot other than a place where you can safely place a pen. The phone slot is flat and not slanted, so the angle is greater than vertical on the lap and the phone will tip forward or fall out. This was also mentioned in other reviews. Since my charging cable runs through the top of my mouse pad, I plan to attach a cable clip to the wood veneer to keep it upright and out of the way. RECOMMENDED IMPROVEMENTS FOR MANUFACTURERS: Remove the protruding plastic covering around the mouse pad. Use copious amounts of microbeads instead of thick foam. The microbeads provide comfort, a little flexibility when needed, and are more breathable (the foam retains heat and can shrink over time). Make the phone holder lower and at a higher angle when using the stand while lying down with knees raised/bent. and a 15 inch laptop.
