Like the previous poster, I used it to replace the Tivo Bolt fan. The old fan was whistling in my bedroom and driving me crazy. Before reading the rest I would say that if you are having trouble with noise from your bolt you should do it. This is a fantastic solution. It doesn't fit the same holes though so you really can't use standard screws to reinstall it, but I just used a four point glue gun and it worked fine. The geometry was precisely matched to the size of the installation housing. Communication isn't perfect either. The new fan has a two pin clip and the original had three pins so I just played around with it for 5 seconds which one to use correctly and it worked fine. No wire cutters or solder required. If you've ever disassembled electronic equipment, it will be very easy, especially without soldering or cutting. Highly recommended. Too bad the Tivo didn't use them from the start.
