Review on ☕ KRUPS Precision Grinder Flat Burr Coffee: Perfectly Ground Beans for Drip, Espresso, Pour Over & Cold Brew, 12 Cup Capacity in Sleek Black by Jack Watkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Dirty, grind settings too fine (consistently!)

A few words I don't like about this grinder (return).1. It's a mess. The large capacity makes it totally impractical to grind anything other than a filter coffee maker. When I grind an espresso the container becomes unwieldy and it is very difficult to move the coffee grounds into the espresso basket without leaving enough floor on the counter to be a nuisance. 2. The grind settings are too fine across the board. On the best espresso setting to the aeropress setting, it clogs my Delonghi espresso machine. I gave up trying to find the right setting because I spent 4-5 games trying to find the right setting. What they state for "Pour" is too good and ends up with a cloudy tasting coffee. I went to 8 ("Percolator" - past "Drip Coffee") and it was still dripping slowly and had a cloudy taste. If I have to go to 10 ("French Bench") just to get a pourover, there's no room for a French Bench! It also seems that the best way to use this grinder is to store beans in it. If you don't do this, the grains will pop out of the gum as you grind. Seems to NEED the weight of the beans. I use different beans for different purposes (espresso or pour over) and it doesn't work4. Cleaning with a square and deep tank is difficult, and I don't see how a short brush can effectively get deep enough into a hopper or tank to clean without reaching deeper than is comfortable. 5. As with all of these grinders (not just this one I think), setting the amount of coffee you want to grind feels a bit arbitrary. It only goes to 2 and I found this to be the setting I need for 1, be it espresso or pour over.

Pros
  • HIGH CAPACITY: 8 ounce bean hopper and removable grind hopper is rated for grinding 30-32 cups of coffee
Cons
  • No insurance
