So here are a few points. First, a USB port just for charging isn't worth it. It's barely faster than using any of the other ports and doesn't charge really quickly like you might expect. Plugging into an outlet with a less-than-perfect cable is a mile faster, and even the simple connectors my computer case came with can handle it quicker. Second, some of the ports are now less functional or just don't work. not working after less than a year of what I would call light use. One of them is basically non-functional, it just randomly seems to shut down completely for 10-15 seconds. The third thing to consider is that your motherboard may literally not have enough connectors to support all of these connections. Be sure to count what you have, and remember that your tower's USB ports also need a connection or two to function. This can be a simple but annoying oversight. I would like to be recommended the best product, but I am still looking for it. I'll just get a good USB hub with an SD card reader. If you need a charging port right on your desk, consider buying a surge protector with USB ports.
