Edit: Updated to four stars. For reference, SPP will be my shorthand for Split Pad Pro until the end of this review. In terms of use, they are great. I know what I got in terms of Joy-Cons changes (no gyroscope, no battery, no amiibo compatibility, no rumble) when I bought SPP. I think it's a bit silly to look at docking sprocket reviews for this reason as stated on the bottom. The bottom half of the railing slides easily enough past the dpad on the left controller/joystick on the right, it feels like a sort of "glitch" so don't expect smooth deployment like the Nintendo branded joycons. No force required, just more pressure than I'm used to. I think I had a bad batch on the first run (one had "hiccups" and the other didn't), but my replacements seem to be identical. TL; DR: great to play with, bad to attach/remove (at least on the pair I got). I would only deduct one star because it's handy/portable when you use it, but if you want to take it from home you have to carry the SPP separately. There are a few cases (Butterfox, Finite, and TomToc at the time of this review) where it's connected, but your options are minimal. BOTW, etc.) or almost invisible (Sprite/2D games seem to use less). Especially if it is connected to the network.
