Surprisingly, some people say the light isn't bright enough. This light is BRIGHT and it is a hard white light. The square box on the back of the light is exactly the size shown in the details (4.72" square) and your junction box should be flush with the surface of the drywall. I'm not an electrician, but I've never installed a light fixture that I don't need for some remodeling. For all those electricians who have complained about this, you either need to go back to school or find another job. I installed this in a stairwell and as someone mentioned it's very hard to find a light that doesn't show bulbs, electronics etc when looking up or down. It's a keeper for me and I hope that I can find a dimmer for this Works with it, at least 3/4 the brightness.
