I make LOTS of beads (every day actually) and use needle and thread for several hours every day. And since I always have a finger that gets pricked with the back end of the needle quite often, I thought this would be the perfect answer. They are a pliable plastic material, the needle slips off the pad easily and STILL pierces my finger. I tried using them throughout the day but finally said forget it. Now if they made the same pads with a cloth surface (like the patches you can buy which are cloth) it would most likely work fine as the needle would "stick" or stay pressed against the pad and not would slip off. Maybe one day they will. But right now - as it is - it just doesn't work the way it should.
