Works well on thumb but difficult to remove

Bought these to hand sew; I press the needle with my thumb and have punctured my thumb too many times. I also need to be able to pull the needle through the fabric with my thumb, so a stiff thimble is not an option. I've used them several times over the past two weeks. These sticky pads are a little smoother than I expected, but with practice they work well. My biggest problem is that they stick too well - removing brings a layer of skin with it! too big for my fingertip and too stiff to wrap

too big for my fingertip where my calluses form but too stiff to wrap or bend around my fingertips so I ended up having to each Score each in half and then carefully cut them into an oval shape to fit my fingertip because if you touch the sticky part at all it won't stick well. You must leave it where you put it, you cannot change its position. good idea but not worth the price. If you sew or bead every day, you need to use at least a few a day. b/c they come off or get lost with things (like…

Doesn't work as described.

I make LOTS of beads (every day actually) and use needle and thread for several hours every day. And since I always have a finger that gets pricked with the back end of the needle quite often, I thought this would be the perfect answer. They are a pliable plastic material, the needle slips off the pad easily and STILL pierces my finger. I tried using them throughout the day but finally said forget it. Now if they made the same pads with a cloth surface (like the patches you can buy which are…

Works well for thimbles

I bought these years ago when I was embroidering to protect my fingers from the needles I was always poking into leather. Back then, I found that the best way to use them was not to expect them to "fit" my fingers, just sit on the skin where I wanted to deflect the needle. Although I sometimes noticed them sticking to my quilted linen or clothing, I was happy with them at the time. Fast forward a few decades and they were the first thing I thought of when I needed something to protect a broken…
