UPDATE: TWO DID NOT WORK Working for 3 months then thrown away because no customer service

UPDATE: I bought two of these, one for my parents house and one for our house. BOTH no longer work. After several disputes with VTech, they sent me a replacement as a "one time courtesy" (imagine the audacity?). Just a few days later, the second cell phone stopped working (I took it from my parents' house)! I have little faith that the newest one will last very long. I will contact customer service again although I'm sure they don't care. When this phone works, it's great. Unfortunately, he only worked for three months. It has been hanging on my son's crib for three months. Loosely attached, which made him nervous. but as he was an infant and had not yet reached it, I kept him. He was not abandoned or abused. First it started to flicker and the phone wouldn't turn on. Then it just stopped working. I thought the batteries might not work. I changed the batteries twice and it wouldn't turn on once. I contacted VTech expecting that since it is a large company I would receive exceptional customer service. I was told that they do not repair or replace items because they have a 3 MONTH warranty. It's unfortunate that they refused to help with a product that should last much longer. We have so many VTech/Leapfrog products and now I don't think I will ever buy one again.
