I've wanted a kotatsu for a long time but didn't want a cheap looking one. This one looked like it would match my decor, which is mostly honey and light wood. It has arrived and has fully met my expectations in this regard. It's about the size of a small coffee table, which can certainly be doubled. Two people could sit at it and have tea, but they might be a little crooked when handing out their homework. My daughter and I used it together with an open laptop and open books, and while we didn't have a lot of space we managed just fine. She remarked that this was the perfect size for playing cards. The only thing that disappointed me was that the instructions weren't in English and didn't have very many pictures. It's not that it's difficult to set up, but I want to make sure I understand the warnings that come with the product. Eventually I bought a separate transformer to deal with the current difference. I know others have commented on using the transformerless kotatsu, but that seems dangerous to me. I suggest a 1000 watt transformer. (They are not as big as they appear in the pictures.) What I bought was a piece of crap - the soldering broke during shipping - but this is a review of a product for another supplier.
