They are easy to use and pleasant to the touch. I simply replaced two zippers on a military style backpack. The winter pants were a little trickier as the thicker replacement zipper didn't fully fit the original drawstring hole and the drawstring hole on the pants was torn (hence the original puller fell off). This was an issue with the pants, not this product, but you should inquire about the thickness of these drawstrings before purchasing. Some careful drilling/rubbing of a hole along with a small liquid weld and these replacement drawstrings and zipper on these pants were like new.
