I use this to power a 6 inch fan in my car. I have a 20W portable solar charger with two 5V DC USB outputs that I use to charge mobile phones and tablets. I also have a 12 volt 10 watt 6 inch fan to circulate the air in the car. This device allows me to run a 12V fan from a 5V USB solar charger to ventilate my car in hot weather. This significantly reduces the temperature in my car in hot weather with cracked windows. I just mount the solar panel on the dash and connect the fan to the solar charger with this adapter. It works out. I ordered two of these boost adapters. They will work for any 12V device that draws less than 1 amp at 12V DC. I am happy with this purchase.
