. I went matte black and the fan is fine. As advertised, it's absolutely silent and the rod/motor parts were easy to install. It cools well the 13 x 10 foot room I installed it in. Cons: No remote included. I bought a Hunter universal remote and the receiver is very difficult to fit into the canopy of this particular model. I would follow the company's recommendations if you want to avoid this, but I wanted the black to match the space. The lighting part was one of the most frustrating setups I've ever done. You're expected to squeeze a bunch of wires into a tight space, then thread a small screw through everything to secure it. Attaching a liner was no longer a pleasure given the clogged compartment. Also, the light that comes with the fan is incredibly dim. I will replace them for better lighting. All in all, the headache was worth the finished product and this is a great addition. Definitely recommend.
