First I bought powerful replacement LEDs. I hoped they would bring the benefits of LEDs in lower power consumption, longer life and brighter performance. I put them in and oh they looked brilliant! But. When it got dark it was a different story. To get brightness, there are many places on the bulb for sources. The reflector seems to be designed for a point source, which is the format of the 9005 incandescent lamp. The reflectors spread the light from the LEDs in the wrong direction and generally produce a very weak high beam. It was hard to tell the difference between low beam and high beam. While the LED was present and bright, it wasn't projecting in the right direction. The small amount that showed correctly was very weak compared to these bulbs. So I quickly sent the LED back and bought these which are very bright,
