Too big and heavy - hard to hold!

The story sounded beautiful. The product is well built, a single stainless steel unit. Seems to hold the blade as well as any SS knife. Can be easily washed in the dishwasher. But for cutting vegetables and meat, the knife is too large for most hands to comfortably hold and work with. I never thought a knife could be too big. I'm a tall man, I have 12" and 14" knives in my drawer that I use all the time. My favorite cleaver is a thin 6" x 3" stainless steel blade with a cheap wooden handle. I've had it for at least 30 years. I wanted to give my sister something similar. Well after the return window closed I visited them and used this knife. I found out why she doesn't like using it. I can cut with this big, heavy blade, but it gets tiring when I'm cooking large meals. The stainless steel handle, which I imagined to be so great, feels heavy in the hand. It can slip out of my hand if I don't hold it firmly, causing fatigue. A lot can be said about wooden and plastic handles. (Hint: Always wash your wooden-handled cutlery by hand.) Another point: The blade is thick, like a chef's knife. A vegetable nerd needs a thin blade for finer cuts. I would still love to find someone to make a knife like the one in my drawer. This would make a great gift for a couple of home cooks I know.
