They do what their intended to do, hold water.

I purchased two of these for a motocamping trip. We were at a campground and had access to water, but it was a little walk away. I washed these with hot soapy water after they arrived. Rinsed them multiple times. Then put lemon juice and baking soda in as recommended by the manufacturer. The water still picked up a plastic taste in both bags. I can live with it I guess. I expect with further use, they taste will dissipate.

Used this with my backpacking filter. Worked great. The handle is awesome for fast flowing stream use. Wish it was a little lighter material but this is certainly very durable.
