Compatible with Katadyn BeFree

I really liked the Katadyn BeFree filtration system, but I didn't like how they only offer a 0.6L or 1.0L bottle. Having a collapsible bottle is good for that system, mainly because you want to be able to squeeze every last drop of water out. I tried another Hydrapak bottle (0.7L) which still seemed too small (also, it leaked at the junction where the mouthpiece and bottle met) -- I was refilling it more often than I would like. So, I called Katadyn and asked them what my options were. They…

Pros
  • If you want water, this will hold it just fine.
Cons
  • It may leak water if not properly sealed

Awesome water bag! good for me

This thing folds into a small little ball for storage then expands into a large water bottle! Quality material and does exactly what's it's designed for. Great Product!

Pros
  • VERSATILE WATER STORAGE - Wide working temperature range (can be frozen - max temp 60° C / 140° F).
Cons
  • The plastic may have a chemical taste

Packable and easy to use.

Took this on a backpacking trip to filter water into in camp. Worked like a charm. Slightly difficult to keep upright when filtering water into it until you have about half full and then it stands well on its own. Exceeded expectations and planning on buying more for other situations.

Pros
  • Affordable and cost-effective option for water storage
Cons
  • May require more cleaning than traditional water bottles

difficult to fill best in my review

I just tried this HydraPak out on a wilderness hunting trip, and used it in conjunction with the Katadyn screw on water filter. All in all it's a great product; very light weight, collapses nicely to fit in my pack's zipper pocket, and the Katadyn filter is far faster than my original water filter which is the Katadyn hand-pump style. The old pump filter would take a good 15 minutes to assemble, pump, and disassemble. The HydraPak with Katadyn screw on filter is extremely fast; you just fill…

Pros
  • Perfect for use in a variety of settings, including camping, hiking, and backpacking
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions

Added security and extra liters!

Just finished a two day trek on the Laurel Highland Trail in Western Pennsylvania. I had been looking for something to contain extra liters to filter through my Katadyn BeFree Gravity filter and then discovered this actually fit the filter! Found this one used-like new for $14 on Walmart and it arrived without having been used. The first and second night both water pumps at the shelters were not producing enough water so the wide mouth on the Hydrapak allowed me to scoop up water from the local

Pros
  • Camping & Hiking
Cons
  • May not fit in certain backpack pockets

Great as a storage container

I love this product I live on a sailboat and since I’m using tap water from a number of marinas. I use this for drinking water. I have used it on many hikes and maybe 100 liters out of it. I will buy the half liter or whole liter as a drinking bottle and and use this one for storage only

Pros
  • Collapses flat for easy storage when not in use
Cons
  • May not be able to stand up on its own

Useful and compact best in my review

Awesome water bottle. Built of sturdy material and no cap leaks. Kinda hard to pour from but I expected that. Worked perfectly this year for a camelback refill while hunting then rolled up to fit in a small backpack pocket.

Pros
  • Comes in multiple sizes to suit different needs
Cons
  • Not ideal for extended outdoor activities due to limited capacity

Great for extra water for all kinds of trips

I love this! Going to the beach, the theme park or a long car ride this gave us the extra water we needed for a long day. There was one time I froze the water overnight so that while in the park it would defrost and keep our water cold the entire day. I did not expect it to keep it frozen for so long! We had to add water to help it defrost so we can drink it lol. So from now on I fill it up almost full with ice then add water. Ice doesn’t last long but stays pretty cold especially in a cooler…

Pros
  • Hydration & Filtration
Cons
  • May be difficult to fill up at water sources

I absolutely love the flexibility of this canteen. It rolls/folds up into a very small pouch that can easily fit into even the smallest backpack pockets/compartments. And it is very lightweight. The only negative I have is that it gives water a VERY strong plastic/rubber taste. I filled mine with Baking soda and water and let it soak overnight, which lessened the plastic/rubber taste somewhat but did not get rid of it entirely. I have noticed that the taste continues to get a little better the…

Pros
  • PORTABLE & PACKABLE- Fold or crush the Seeker when empty and pack into the included storage bag. The flexible design makes it so light and compact, you'll forget it's in your pack.
Cons
  • Not suitable for carbonated beverages

Quality but unusuable

It's made well but after a ton of rinses and washing the rubber tire smell and taste in the water is not worth it. Spend a few extra dollars for a different brand.

Pros
  • Perfect for long hikes or backpacking trips
Cons
  • May not fit in certain shoulder bag or fanny pack compartments

Like the product not the aftertaste

I used this on a few hikes and I like the carrying capacity, the durability and ability to freeze it. You can collapse it down into it's stuff sack so carrying it is pretty easy. The cons are there is a noticeable rubber after-taste to the water that I wasn't a fan of, buy when you're thirsty on a long hike water is water. And ice cold water is awesome! Drinking out of this was easier with a caribiner otherwise you're just spilling water all over the place. On these two fronts I have to say…

Pros
  • Will not leak or spill, ensuring your gear stays dry and safe
Cons
  • May require more maintenance than traditional water bottles

Disappointed on my review.

My bottle leaked where the nozzle connects to the bag, right off the bat. Plus, the bottle does not stand up and is difficult to tip into your mouth. I do not want to have to lay this bag on the floor or on a dirty table. I have had collapsible bags in the past and I thought I was upgrading with this bag, but I was really disappointed in it and was unable to use it at all.

Pros
  • Comes in multiple colors to suit your style
Cons
  • May not be convenient to use during long road trips or flights

They do what their intended to do, hold water.

I purchased two of these for a motocamping trip. We were at a campground and had access to water, but it was a little walk away. I washed these with hot soapy water after they arrived. Rinsed them multiple times. Then put lemon juice and baking soda in as recommended by the manufacturer. The water still picked up a plastic taste in both bags. I can live with it I guess. I expect with further use, they taste will dissipate.

Pros
  • Easy to fill from any water source
Cons
  • May become less flexible over time

The volume and offset opening make this the best filter bag.

Works great with a Be Free filter and with the offset opening most of the larger debris can be trapped in the bottom corner. With the opening at the top it also makes filling and venting the air out easy. 4L doubles the volume of system I was using with a small increase in pack weight.

Pros
  • Reusable and sustainable option for water storage
Cons
  • May become misshapen or distorted over time

Well made durable and easy to use- its simple and gets the job done. I find that the water taste a little Different after having been in the hydrapak for a few hrs but my husband doesn't feel the taste change. We took it on 5-6 dayhikes & its definitely a good product & i would recommend it if u are looking to carry less weight. We love ours & plan to use it more in spring for more day hikes. In the first pic the hydrapk is resting against a coat rack.

Pros
  • Large mouth opening makes it easy to fill and clean
Cons
  • May take longer to drink than traditional water bottles due to collapsibility

Didn't leak for my opinion

This was used for backpacking trip. It held a decent amount of water & didn't leak. Only con, was left plastic after taste in water

Pros
  • Flexible design conforms to the shape of your pack or gear
Cons
  • May not be as durable as stainless steel or glass water bottles

This bottle is the bomb!

For the people that complained about the taste, do you guys test your equipment before you head out because it certainly doesn’t sound like it. This bottle more than fits the need! It packs small and with the 3Lt I have in my hydration system and the 3Lt I have on my bike I’m set for a-couple of days before I need to break out the water purification system! Could not be more happy, if I had the room on my touring bike I’d buy another!

Pros
  • Includes a twist-lock cap for secure transportation
Cons
  • May not fit in certain hydration pack or vest compartments

Worth the price best in my review

This is my third hydrapak bag. I have been using them for about 4 years and haven't had any leaks. The big ones are great if you're carrying in water to a dry campsite. Or if you just want to be able to store filtered water once you get there. They also work great with the katadyn be free filters. Though remember to squeeze slowly, because as tough as these bags are if you put too much pressure on them too quickly they might still spring a leak.

Pros
  • BPA-free construction ensures the safety of your drinking water
Cons
  • May not be as eco-friendly as reusable water bottles

Issues with their ability, but warrantee is fantastic

After a few times throwing it into a pack, it’s sprung a pinhole leak. While that was disappointing, they responded to warrantee claim in less than 24 hours and I had the replacement bag in a few days

Pros
  • EASY TO POUR - Low-profile, durable handle makes it easy to pour and carry, large 42mm opening is quick to fill, tethered screw cap prevents cap from getting lost
Cons
  • May become easily punctured or torn

Great water container

I bought this item because I was tired with empty wattle bottles taking up so much space in the car. The material is surprisingly durable, very lightweight, holds a lot of water, and clean. Downside to this type of item is that it’s not easy to drink water with one hand (especially when the bag is full) but with proper support, it is definitely worth the price and worth the ability to collapse the size after with each use. Would highly recommend.

Pros
  • Safe to use, free from harmful chemicals such as BPA and PVC
Cons
  • May not be as aesthetically pleasing as traditional water bottles
