I thought I needed it for my Fatshark video goggles to convert the output video source to my PVR but it doesn't need it. I tried this little composite to HDMI converter and I really liked it. It works as expected, but I have some things I don't like that I would like to see in the future. only as an option so it can use the native resolution. and the ability to keep a 4:3 or 16:9 jelly ratio. A 4k option would be a stretch (insert joke here), but it's not really necessary. Video quality could be better. I've found it difficult to convert lighter shades. but that's really only if you look at it very closely. Otherwise it is not noticeable at all. I don't know, maybe it would be nice to have a battery compartment? I thought they might add the ability to add 2 x 3v batteries or a small lipo to get rid of wires. I still like to use the micro USB for power, it would just be nice to have an internal power supply. That's all I can say this is a minus. It's really light and compact, which is very good.
