I don't smell rum or coconut. I smell spicy-sweet cologne or old-school aftershave, like Old Spice or something. I never liked that kind of cologne. I think it's a masculine scent and a lot of people will like it I'm sure but I don't like it and my wife doesn't really like it either. I never use this type of cologne and it will conflict with the cologne I wear. At least my wife doesn't hate it as much as she hates the Honest Amish. I don't hate Honest Amish stuff, but I can't be a fan of anything that makes my wife refuse to kiss me. I will say this material really softens my beard and keeps it soft for many hours like Honest Amish stuff. I just don't like the smell. I also have some Viking Blend oil from the same brand. What I like. It's odorless. I think I'll buy Grave Before Shave Viking Blend too. I don't need perfume in my beard. All I want is something that will soften my beard and give it some shine. If I want to smell nice, I take a shower and maybe squirt on some cologne. My beard shouldn't smell of anything.
