The smell is better but the effectiveness is average.

I've only tried Honest Amish so far, so I don't have anything to compare Grave Before Shave to, but here it is. I don't like that it's solid and you have to use your fingernail to get it out of the container. Then, even after it's melted, it's like you've smeared candle wax onto your beard (exaggerated of course, but that's what I thought when I used it because it's thicker than what I'm used to). The aroma of bay rum is amazing. Good for trimming beards. I don't understand the excess oil or…

Honest Amish was great but I think this one is better

Just received my order for this and immediately switched to Honest Amish Beard Balm. Honest Amish was great, but this one is better in my opinion. Grave Before Shave Beard Balm has the best texture, hold and scent (at least Bay Rum, I can't speak for other scents). I'm also really keen on the ingredients! You grew up on an island, some days you stink like the bay. You grew up on an island, sometimes you smell like rum. This balm is a version of how good it smells. I like the product. It's not for me but I love their Viking Blend.

I don't smell rum or coconut. I smell spicy-sweet cologne or old-school aftershave, like Old Spice or something. I never liked that kind of cologne.
