NEUTROGENA is my second favorite drugstore skin care brand. Why? Because they make amazing products for sensitive skin and sun protection. In fact, I've never had a bad Neutrogena product. That's less bad than wrong. Rapid Firming Collagen Triple Lift Serum has to have different ingredients in the top 5 if you want to take it seriously. I have the formula disabled. I like the feel of the serum. It has a certain "net weight" and adheres very well to the skin, creating a smooth, defined barrier. Feels great once absorbed and continues to feel hydrated. BUT. The first 5 ingredients aren't impressive (water #1!) and denatured alcohol #3. DA itself isn't usually a problem in cosmetics, but it CAN dry out the skin. It is a non-skin care ethanol and contains additives that make it toxic, taste bad, smell bad or cause nausea to discourage its recreational use. Two hits on this serum because it's at the top of the ingredient list and on my face! -- which makes me doubly wary of accidentally putting it in my mouth. I mean, what kind of woman would want an ingredient used as a cleanser, fuel additive, or solvent on her face? Lavender oil and gardenia are also included in the same serum. The two strongest floral scents don't go together at all and are in fact an overkill of a scent. Lavender made my skin sting even though it's halfway down the ingredient list at a lower concentration. The smell is completely gone but the burning sensation remains. So this is the first and only time I have had a negative reaction to a Neutrogena product. My skin still felt moist, but its appearance and texture hadn't changed. At this stage I have not noticed any lifting, smoothing or contouring and I doubt this product will have such a visible effect over time. Unfortunately not for me.
