It ran a CAT-5e at about 140ft but it barely worked. Sometimes you had a picture and no sound, sometimes you had no picture. Disconnecting and reconnecting the device allowed it to sync again. It eventually synced and worked, but the advertised length appears to be in pristine condition, which isn't typically the case in a home where EMI or other interference can affect the wiring. I built my own CAT 5e cables and tried two different cables and both showed the same results so can't blame it was a cable issue and yes I have a CAT 5e network tester and it showed both cables like GTG. I used to buy HDMI extenders and my past experience has taught me to buy something twice as long to get good results. It worked and accomplished the mission of installing an extra TV in my Super Bowl shed so I'm happy with my purchase. I'm sure this works better over longer distances using shielded network cable.
