My needs were: A camera for classes, family gatherings, weddings and posting on eBay. Nothing special but I want photos to be given away so I need good quality. I dropped my original in my senior year and needed a quick replacement for photographing plants and flowers. Quickly? I received it THE NEXT DAY. Brooklyn to Connecticut. So I bought it even though it was green. Which I really appreciate having attended a wedding where I got to choose my camera from all the silver cameras on the table. Summary: buy it! Cheap, small, good clear images. The movement is more difficult, but you just have to change the settings. Long battery life as claimed by the manufacturer - 300+ photos on a single charge. Read the manual (yeah, nerds don't like that) but it was painless and I learned some cool features. Longer: Like any other electronics nerd, I researched cameras before I bought them and they came up with the highest ratings everywhere. For example B or B+. The most important thing I learned about higher megapixels (10MP+) is that with older technology cameras, processors can't handle memory and images get blurry. For example, even if the megapixels are 13 megapixels, you can still get blurry shots. That's why I got it - at 10MP you're "safe". My shots are razor sharp at 5x7 and that's all I need. The Leica lens has an excellent reputation for its clarity and I think that's why it excels. I won't repeat what others have said, but here are some things I like: - Small, fits in your pocket and small zippered camera bags but you can buy them at Target. It's even smaller than my PDA but has a big display - Even the charger is small so you can take it with you - You can lock photos so my niece and nephew can't delete them - Control is also without reading the manual intuitive - stabilizer works well - without a flash it is still possible to take pictures with room light (photos only). Some dislikes: Red-eye sometimes doesn't eliminate all redness, and flash recovery isn't as fast as my other camera. So for the everyday camera it is perfect!
