If you have problems with Joy-Cons, this is for you

I've seen a few complaints about these controllers and felt compelled to share my experience with them. It's 9/14/20 and I've only had the midnight blue Split Pad Pro (not a good name but it works) for a few days, but so far it's been worth every penny. I've seen reviewers claim that the controllers drain the battery HUGE which is actually not true. It's noticeable, but yes. The Joy-Cons have their own battery while the SPP doesn't, so it uses the Switch's battery a bit more. I suppose for some people already thinking that the Switch's battery isn't lasting very long this might be an issue, but it's actually not that noticeable and certainly not "critical". The size is great. It looks a little silly compared to how switches typically look, but it's a much more solid grip. This makes the Switch a bit longer, it doesn't fit in my Zelda Switch case built with SPP controllers. I've found them to snap to the sides of the switch much more securely than the cons. I've had a few in the past that started to slip due to the uncomfortable, awkward positions your hands and fingers have to move into. At least for this one? My big hands are just perfect for controllers, and the Switch fits perfectly in between. The sticks and all buttons are larger and feel more comfortable. The grip is pretty decent, less slippery than the PS4 controller but not as heavy as the Xbox controller. Luckily, SPP doesn't prevent the Switch from going from portable charging to docking mode, which is great too. Now for the "bad". As most people should know by now, these controllers don't support HD vibration, NFC scanners, or gyro control. I'm a big fan of gyroscope controls, I always leave movement on in games like Splatoon 2 or Breath of the Wild. Although I wish my beautiful SPP had this option, unfortunately it is not yet possible. I don't miss HD Rumble much, but out of the 100+ games I own, there are only 6 Switch games that even use the gyroscope. Just attach it to the dock and pull out my Pro Controller (not SPP) which can move or scan amiibo. It's not mentioned very often by reviewers that there isn't a button mapping option in the Switch settings like there are other official Nintendo controllers. However, you can do this manually. There's also turbo buttons if you like them, but I've never been a fan. Minimal complaints, good product. I will never use Joy-Cons again! I love Split Pad Pro! Maybe future models will get gyro control one day, fingers crossed!
