Review on TAIM806 Magnets Welding Pit Bull by Jason Wright

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very poor workmanship but repairable

Pit Bull TAIM806 Welding Magnets are small, 2 inches and rated for 9-10 pounds. The set I received was unusable as the assembly was very poor, no alignment. If the side plates are misaligned, they have no strength and cannot hold anything rectangular. They're cheap junk, but they're easy to fix. My solution was to replace the rivets with 6-32 screws. First drill out the backs of the rivets. Then, using a thin spatula, remove the backplate from the magnet. After that, the product can be disassembled. Drill/drill holes with a #27 drill bit for fixed spacing of the 6-32 screw. Clean and deburr. Reassemble using 6-32 x 5/8 inch stainless steel pan head screws and decorative nuts. Be sure to use a good reference angle when tightening the screws. Now after an hour of work I have some very nice 2 inch magnet squares. If you are not willing to spend some time attaching these magnets, I recommend that you do not buy them.
