Review on Reloop Ortofon Concorde Turntable Cartridge by Michael Keitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing soundstage and clarity

Installation on Technics SL-1410 to replace Ortofon Super OM10; Yamaha R-95 receiver and Polk T50 speakers. The OM10 was a great pickup for me with very good imaging and clarity, but the imaging and clarity of the Reloop Concorde Vibe is amazing. Tested with various albums: Classical Organ (E. Powers Biggs at Freiburg Cathedral), Glen Campbell (Hey Little One), Judy Collins (Colors of the Day), Gordon Lightfoot (Gord's Gold), Sergio Mendes (Equinox), Asleep Driving ( Western Standard Time) and Henry Mancini/Julie Andrews (Darling Lily and Victor Victoria soundtracks). As others have pointed out, this cartridge lets me hear nuances in music that I've never heard before on records I've owned for over 30 years. I suspect part of the reason is that Reloop's 3g downforce is better suited to older recordings; 1.5g OM10 tracks In the mid to late 1980's I bought a brand new Ortofon Concorde and used it with a Technics SL-1700 for over 20 years; I lost my cartridge in a divorce. I am very happy that I found the Reloop Concorde Vibe and will definitely buy it again.

Pros
  • Electronic music, DJ and karaoke
Cons
  • I am silent

Expensive, but worth it! The best stylus that I ever used.
