i really wanted to like them because they were a small form factor and i had to turn up the volume on my yaesu 8800 in my jeep because it's loud on the freeway and slower with the window open. I installed them on the roll bar between the seats, which was the perfect spot. Unfortunately, the sound was interrupted at a certain volume and pitch. I'm not a sound expert so can't really describe it but it was really annoying to listen to and I removed them and they are in a box in my garage. One day I will use them for a kids school project or a Raspberry Pi project. I use a larger Vertex speaker in the $80 range with great sound, but it's big. UPDATE: I was wrong in blaming the speaker for the poor sound I was getting. I found some cheap extension cords to be the culprit. When I connected the speakers directly, they stopped "chirping". However, they still weren't loud enough for my specific needs, so I raised my rating from 2 (don't like) to 3 (just ok).
