The idea behind breakaway collars is that a cat runs the risk of accidentally choking if its collar is so tight that you can't easily slip two fingers between it and the cat's neck, so the collar is designed to " can be torn off". My problem was that the ones available to me broke off at the slightest jolt - a good tumult that encouraged a return of business. (The cat department hasn't had a lot of choices lately.) This Rogz collar has an adjustment on the back of the clasp that allows you to adjust the breakaway tension for 3 weight cats. My Rogz collar is now setting records for longevity on a daily basis. Get this item and you will end up having your money literally ripped off.
