Great for the price but not the best for preventing knee locks

It's hard to argue with a price like this. However, I bought a brace to prevent accidental locking of the knee and this brace prevents knee flexion much better than knee extension. I can casually lock my knee even on more draconian settings. It also fits me quite snugly, although I did pay attention to the size. I don't mind wearing it tight, but if this brace *almost* fits you, the velcro won't fully overlap, but will dig into your skin, and it's a pretty sharp velcro. *** Pros *** The price is about as good as you could ask for the price. Knee pad storage can cost upwards of $500, and many of them aren't as good as this one. Knee Flexion Prevention - Reliably prevents compression/flexion of the knee. The lock is easy to use - it's fairly obvious how the locks work. instantly. Lightweight and foldable - easy to fold, thin enough to wear under clothes. I can still stand upright with slight discomfort. If you are considering buying this to prevent accidentally locking your knee I would suggest buying something heavier. It's not that easy to get "right" on your own - I personally didn't find it that difficult, but rather awkward. to put it back on with the right tension and position so the velcro doesn't dig into me. This is probably true of all velcro or drawstring supports, but it's worth noting that you may need to put them on and walk around a bit, then adjust a few times before you get the right result. ***Mixed** *Runs up a bit smaller - I've basically never needed anything big, but I'm 5ft 10", 180lbs and have fairly muscular thighs, so I have the large version here per the directions listed to get. The brace fits below my knee but barely above my knee, although with some adjustment it will fit. Inconvenience of the Velcro - If the brace fits you tightly or you are rushing to put it on, the Velcro will not completely seal its connection. As a result, part of the very sharp Velcro scratches the foot. It could be mitigated by wearing it over tights or something, but I haven't tried it. *** Conclusion *** In general I'd say if you need to add some medium support or prevent/limit knee flexion for a limited period of time or need to attach an e-splint that will allow you to travel more easily, this is about it what you can do for money.
