Revainrating 5 out of 5

Updated assessment after 12 months.

Updated After 12 Months: While keeping my original comments below, I will say that this coverage has really grown on me and I have decided to upgrade it from 2 to 5 stars. This suitcase has traveled across the country in a stuffed backpack for several months without any signs of wear. I really wish the manufacturer were still working on making a stronger frame. With the iPad 12.9 case you really need both hands. But it's a beautiful case and I've gotten a lot of compliments on how it looks, especially with the stylus installed. Multiple viewing angles is a huge benefit over other cases and I have now bought 2 more cases as gifts. Updated after 2 days of use: I'm not sure if other reviews have been requested or not, but I'm a bit surprised by the high ratings. Full disclosure, I've had a competitor's case for a number of years, so I'm used to the extended protection. But I wanted something thinner and lighter and after reading the reviews I bought it. I really wanted to love this Zugu case because it looks amazing. Pros: 1. Much thinner than my old case and MUCH easier to put on and take off.2. The magnet is very strong and holds my iPad really securely to the fridge (that's probably what prompted me to buy this case and not others)3. The slots allow you to adjust more than 10 viewing angles and the iPad doesn't move when you press it. I used it for gaming with no problems.4. The building itself is stunningly beautiful inside and out. Cons: The two major cons that took away my 3 stars relate to functionality and feel. While these are flaws, you need to understand that the iPad 12.9 is huge and heavy to begin with. So when creating an iPad case of this size, there are a few design considerations to keep in mind. The following issues immediately caught my eye when I did 2 normal things: Pick up the iPad with one hand. Hold/read my iPad in one hand.1. When the lid is flipped back to allow me to read/use my tablet with one hand, the lid slides a little on the back making it feel like the iPad could slip out of my hand. Also, the inside of the cover has a velvety texture (looks lovely btw) so it feels like it's about to slip off when I touch my fingers. Due to the heaviness of the ipad 12.9, I would like a much better grip and stability when held with one hand as a reader.2. Because the lid slides so hard on the back, you have to pinch the edge firmly to hold it in your hand (see photo). However, the edge of the case tends to detach easily from the iPad. This forces your thumb to rest against the edge of the iPad, but also allows the iPad to slide out of your hand easily. In fact, my iPad has already slipped out of my hands twice within 2 days of using this case. I also noticed dirt buildup in this area after just a few uses. Combined with point 1 above, in this case I just don't feel safe holding my iPad unless I'm using two hands. I recommend it as a great case for hands-free calling and just using the screen. But I don't recommend this if you want to hold a tablet in one or more hands, and I just don't feel comfortable holding my $1,100 iPad in it. My suggestions to the manufacturer: make edges stiffer or even thicker. Find a way to attach the lid to the back of the case when held so it doesn't slide around as much. Maybe a stronger magnet or a way to use the grooves.
