The CD player does not work right out of the box. And I mean ZERO, nothing, Deadsville, regardless of the type of CD. However, the DID USB port plays the flash drive just fine. When I say immaculate I mean if you want to fill a small to medium sized room with sound that is absolutely FLAT and DEAD at 3/4 volume then this is the perfect little stereo for you. Folks, there are no woofers or tweeters here! Just mid-range, crappy little speakers that lack definition and definition. Also, "Mega Bass" is "Mega Joke"! Always an optimist, I hooked up the FM tuner to my favorite radio station, which my other two stereos picked up crystal clear. However, this unit gives a new meaning to the word "FUZZ". I have bought 2 other audio products from SONY in the last 30 years that have been somewhere between mediocre and disappointing. This is the third and final SONY product
