I have 4 Midland GXT1000VP4 and several different headsets/shoulder speakers for them so I'm pretty sure this speaker isn't working due to poor workmanship and not user error. I tried using it for all 4 radios and it didn't work, just showed connection for a split second by plugging it into the connector port. I bought this for my 8 year old son as I really didn't want him to use my prettier Midland brand shoulder speaker. But as everything else I find seems to be of the same quality I guess I'll have to get a second Midland speaker as I know they actually work.
