It worked initially (provided each of the three connectors were plugged in in exactly the right order each time the computer was turned off). Then the cable gradually became unreliable and stopped working. The display became shaky at times, with noise on the screen. Now it doesn't connect at all. I bought a new one from a different manufacturer. I used it to connect a 2018 Macbook Pro to an old (probably 2012) imac with a built in display to use as an external monitor in target display mode. EDIT - The seller contacted me and offered both a replacement and a refund. I accepted a refund but not a replacement as I had already purchased a different cable. The seller has good customer service and stands behind their product.
