Lighting in just one direction means a much more efficient use of light and because they are LEDs they use less electricity than fluorescent lamps. The radiator also makes a solid impression. The fact that they're rated for up to 300V means you don't have to remove the ballast, which is very handy. I only wish they were in the G24Q base type too! (This is the more common basis for recessed lighting in the kitchen.)
