Someone gave my eldest son a pair of these shoes many years ago and he loved them so I decided to give them to my youngest for his 2nd birthday. He loves her. The "best" is twofold: the joy he feels from stomping and lighting them up, and the self-sufficiency he feels from being able to put them on himself. We're barefoot at home, so we don't usually wear shoes at home, except maybe indoor shoes. So when the boys want to run in the yard, go for a short walk, or check the mail I can let my 2 year old dress themselves and make you feel like a BOSS. Learning curve, they came quickly and I'm seriously considering ordering a second pair for my six year old as his old ones don't fit anymore and I think he's jealous of his little brother's boots!
