Received this to try on my daughter's hair after trying many other conditioners and detangling sprays that failed to keep it from tangling for days. She has very thick wavy/curly hair that is pulled into a big fluffy ponytail every day. Combing her hair into a ponytail was a morning ordeal for both of us. I have no shortage of conditioners and sprays to detangle my own hair, but mine is no longer as thick and unruly as hers, despite being very long . Anyway, I saw this magic mask and decided to try it. So far I've used it twice on her hair and twice on mine and it has made her easier to comb. Mine isn't that hard, but this treatment definitely softens it up. I think if you have thin or thin hair it may weigh it down. This reduced her fluffiness so you can actually see the waves in her, but not to the point where she looks flat. I also love that it further reduces the tangles she gets over the course of several days and I don't have to apply more like most detangling sprays, they then build up and make her hair even more tangled. The product has a fairly strong floral scent when applied, but I don't find it too unpleasant. It mostly dissipates when you rinse off the product and the only way I can smell the lingering scent is to hold my hair to my nose and sniff it. I took off a star because the jars are tiny (only 2 ounces of product per jar) and we both have a lot of hair. At the speed I'm using it looks like I can only use 4-5 times from a jar. It is also not sold in a larger size. Update: I took off another star because subsequent orders for this product have a different smell, musky and unpleasant. It's the same scent as the PURC product that I tried and hated. I was glad it had a different scent but now both of my hair smell like 70's disco daddy! But it works the same, just stinks.
