Glad I looked into this to connect my new Macbook Pro (with four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports) more directly than one via HDMI with to connect my LCD monitor to these USB hubs.The cable does not heat up and transfers adequately to the LCD monitor.The only personal observation I would like to share on this is that for some reason it only works with 3 of the 4 Thunderbolt3/USB -Ports -C to my works MacBook It consistently does not accept video from a specific port on my laptop Neither Apple rep nor I understand why but I breathed a sigh of relief to learn that none of my Macbook ports accept this Problem is which I later tested ALL at the Apple Store (for video and USB storage/data)..After confirming there is no faulty hardware/ports on my MacBook I am using d I still like this cable for my desktop monitor.
