The 2017 model only deserves 1 star

I bought mine in 2017 and it's practically unusable. Although it works - sometimes - it gets very hot, which worries me about damaging my memory cards. It's also incredibly slow with transfer speeds. I get about 10x faster transfer from a much cheaper solution that I bought after the fact here from another brand. It also forcibly ejects my camera cards whenever I do something as simple as opening my Pictures folder. It doesn't seem able to take the strain and simply gives up and is forcibly ejected. Maybe Satechi have improved it since 2017 but I'm not inclined to give them another chance to earn my trust. Too bad because it's a nice industrial design. And I've had good luck with other Satechi products. But not this one.
