I have been a hobbyist for many years and have always used this water dechlorinator. I also use Seachem Prime which is more expensive. I don't see a big difference between the two products. I usually fill buckets and add AquaSafe before filling the tank after a water change, but I am sure / and have used it when refilling the tank. As they say, it works in seconds. I just always put the health of my fish first, so I almost always treat the water before I put it in the tank, shake it and I'm ready to use it. This bottle lasts quite a long time. I do weekly water changes in 3 different sized tanks and I think this bottle will last around 2-3 months (depending on the size of the water changes and how often you change the water). The bottle says monthly maintenance, but I always stick to weekly water changes for optimal fish health. It doesn't matter, the main thing is that it works!
