Review on πŸ”Œ 30ft HDMI Cable - Ultra HD 4K Resolution - Ethernet & HDR Support - High Speed 18Gbps - Audio Return Channel - 9.1m Length - HDMI 2.0b Ready by Jimmy Scaturro

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The 0.5m and 1m cables I received do not fully support the HDMI2.0b standard.

I bought the 0.5m and 1m version, both are not fully compatible. I bought these cables because they claim to support the HDMI 2.0b (18Gbps) standard. That's not the case! 1M supports it without HDCP (useless) or supports parts of the standard with lower bandwidth (lower bandwidth). Here's what I found on my review unit and the Samsung HDR10 display; At 4K 60fps, YUV4:4:4, HDR8 with HDCP2.2 enabled, 1m was not synced at all. If I swap the cable (doesn't matter) I get a choppy image. When I disable HDCP2.2 (my signal comes from my signal generator) it stabilizes. I asked Hollywood if we could just disable HDCP, they said no. So I tested the cable with the lower bandwidth signals that are part of the HDMI 2.0b specification and they worked. The 0.5m was able to sync but had sparks meaning it was almost able to pick up the full signal (improvement from 1.5m but still not acceptable). This is misleading and I'm a bit frustrated as this was a test build at my home. Now it's on hold until I find cables that do as they say. I thought 500+ reviews meant they worked, maybe in what many do, but in fact they clearly don't support the whole format! I shot two videos, apparently you can only upload one! On the video the 1m cable doesn't fully sync and there are two black screenshots where I captured the twinkle (I circled them and it was a very small part of the screen) as the 0.5- m cable not fully synced supports full 18Gbps signal. Some may be ok with this as they may not be able to see these artifacts? I don't belong, the cables are coming back.
