Reliable Hard Drive - Data Storage

I bought 3 of these units (1TB version and two 2TB versions). After so many failures with WD and Seagate drives, I decided I needed something "more robust". I've dropped one of these on my hardwood floor a few times (just a few feet from coffee table height) and unlike my previous WD and Seagate hard drives, these little buggers kept working. I've been using 2 of these for 5 years and 1 of these for 4 years and none of my 3 have failed yet. I'm sure they'll fail one day (all hard drives do, after all), so I duplicate my backups across those three hard drives (with additional backups in the cloud, just in case). I use the 1TB version as a time capsule backup for my Mac and the other two 2TB hard drives are used for long term backups, everything is encrypted of course (my files are duplicated on both so if one hard drive fails, I have another backup for my backup). Yes, I'm paranoid about my dates. I'm amazed by all these reviews that complain about losing a lot of data because their hard drive dies one day. Of course, your hard drive will eventually fail. You must have a backup for your backup because all hard drives eventually fail. If you don't have a backup to back up, you're playing with fire! Remember, the question isn't if your hard drive will fail, it's when. Anyway, long story short, these suction cups seem to be a bit more reliable than my previous experience with those cheap Western Digital and Seagate drives.
