I had several extension cords in addition to this set and it took quite a while to get all the others (especially the wooden ones which have a metal end with a wire that you press, to hold the pin in place) is either completely broken or just didn't work. Others made of aluminum look the same but are not. This is their cheap imitation. My first set was in use for about a year without any problems. I have so many pencils that are too expensive to just throw away when they're only sharpened to the point. When you're paying $1.00 to $5.00 FOR A PENCIL, you don't want to waste an inch of lead. When you only have the tip of a pencil, it's very difficult to hold it properly. The extensions don't hold it tight enough for you to stick the tip of a pencil into an electric sharpener. There are many sharpeners that you can use by hand that only fit on one bar. I highly recommend the M&R brass sharpeners made in Germany. They have washable blades and are generally superior to other sharpeners, but you can sharpen your pencil best when only the tip is left. I was amazed at how short a pencil tip can be sharpened with this sharpener. I had one when I was using the ENTIRE line and it only had about a half inch of body end left. They fit all my pens. I found the Caran d'Ache Luminance to be slightly thicker than the pencil, so you have to unscrew it to enlarge the opening before inserting the pencil, and then screw it back to hold the pencil securely. I have hexagonal pins that hold just as well as round ones. About a month ago I ordered a second set as I have so many buds and want to use them all if possible. I know I'm lazy and could just swap the bar in and out. I find it much easier to put each tab in a separate extension since I can put them in a pen holder. Otherwise, you're iterating over all of those parts. I'll try to take a photo to show how I use them. While you can store them in a cup, I really like the holder that separates each pin and keeps them upright. Eventually, this company made another set of Christmas patterns. I like their marble look. You look very cool. So the functionality, if you're lucky, isn't common and that's what prompts me to go for stylus extensions.
