Although not marketed as a coffee scale, I use mine for that purpose. It's incredibly easy to use, faster than electronic scales and requires no batteries. Just because it's old technology doesn't mean it's obsolete. Not the strongest scale ever made, but it's perfectly fine under the stated weight limit and not at all fragile.
