Bought for his wife's Patriot in 2015. When we bought the car the depot only had a spare key with no remote controls. This is the first time that I have bought such remote controls. As I only had 1 working key I had to pay a bargain price to program it. Although the dealer I used was very good and not bad given the commission. One of the new keys got lost on the way. Before another key was lost (you must know my wife) I wanted to replace the missing key so I could program it myself. So here are the tips. If the owner's manual says you can program yourself, then you can follow that procedure. I continued to wait for the beep indicating the car was in key programming mode. Well he didn't. So I'm confused and waiting for a call. Well, if you screw it up, you'll be prevented from doing it yourself for 2 days. After that you can program again. Insert the first key, turn it to the on position for more than 5 seconds and less than 15 seconds. Within 15 seconds, insert the second key and turn it to the on position. After 5-10 seconds, check that the small red LED lights up, indicating that it is in programming mode. Take out up to 15 seconds. Within 15 minutes, reinsert a new key and turn it to the on position without attempting to start. After about 5 seconds, this LED will flash a few times to let you know if it's programmed. Now I'm trying to start the car with a new key. If it starts up and then shuts down, you did it wrong and now you have to wait 2 days before trying again. get key. Large stores will not do this as there is a chip. I figured they had machines that would be the easiest way to cut them. Find an old hardware store that has been making keys for a long time and they will cut you normally. Old school machines are too narrow and it is often necessary to remove part of the machine body so that the entire key can be cut out. So you will also reject new hardware stores with these machines. The problem is that the shape of the console is not suitable for cars. In general, I've stopped the process now and no problems so far. I will update this review if I run into any problems in the future.
