I'm not a professional. All I needed was a tripod to record videos of childhood baseball and volleyball games with our Canon camcorder. I tried one of the cheap ($35) tripods but the head wobbles a lot. After some research I decided to spend more and get a tripod with a moving head. I picked the Magnus VT-350 because it had generally good reviews, seems good value for money, and can explode. I've been using it for several months now. I am very happy with the quality and performance. I can't compare it to a "professional" quality tripod, but for amateur use I'd recommend spending more on cheap tripods.
