Best value for money in a complete tripod

Haven't used it much yet but it's good value for money and seems solid enough for DSLR video. What I don't like is that there is no way on the mount to balance the position of the camera so it doesn't move vertically under the unbalanced weight of the camera and lens. If it had a mechanism for that, I would highly recommend it. I had to tighten the vertical drag enough to keep the camera from tipping. This is not a good tripod if you want to do vertical panning. Horizontal panoramas look pretty

    It costs less than tripods

I'm not a professional. All I needed was a tripod to record videos of childhood baseball and volleyball games with our Canon camcorder. I tried one of the cheap ($35) tripods but the head wobbles a lot. After some research I decided to spend more and get a tripod with a moving head. I picked the Magnus VT-350 because it had generally good reviews, seems good value for money, and can explode. I've been using it for several months now. I am very happy with the quality and performance. I can't…

    My best tripod

I bought a good tripod for my Super 8 camera in the last millennium and I still keep it because it was the best I had but this one is better. liquid head and height. I can finally raise the camera to eye level and even over the heads of people standing at the event! The only minor issue is that the liquid head makes it difficult to fine-tune aiming, as it tends to bounce back a bit after you stop pressing. If I focus on a license plate 200m away and try to center it, it tends to move sideways…

Big and tall good for photography and photography

As you can see from the picture this is a BIG tripod and yet it's not that heavy. The second tripod in the picture is a small/regular Sony tripod. I needed a taller tripod for my wedding so I went with the VT-350. If you pull out all three pieces it's about 68 inches, and then of course you can raise it another foot or so. Another nice feature is that the tripod base doesn't take up much more space than the small Sony. I had 1/4" head wobble when panning left and right, but that was because I…

    • Pretty much everything is fine

The tripod legs feel great but the mechanics are plastic and I'll be happy if it lasts a year with a strict shooting schedule. but maybe it's my shooting style. Decent smoothness, but it squeaks quite a bit when trying to pan slowly when tightened with more than 33% of the torque on the adjustment knob. not ideal for wedding ceremonies, but if you're not recording sound on set I could handle it just fine. I feel like I got what I paid for. If you need a decent moving head tripod in a pinch this

    • Slightly torn

I like the height and overall strength of this tripod. But I bought two and both have lasted just over a year without the same problem, one of the legs came off the frame. It slides back in, but as a solid everyday tripod I've lost faith in it. I don't take this outside, only use it for inside interviews so it's poor workmanship not abuse. Really disappointed and I would pay for an upgraded version of this tripod. The update sent a photo of these tripods disassembled and their response was to…

    • Questionable purchase for seniors

Excellent fluid head for the price. Whether you're a beginner, a pro on a budget, or need an extra tripod, this is great. The fluid head is sleek and does the job, but DO NOT expect a $100 professional quality fluid head. I've had it for over a year now and I'm very happy with the product, but there are a few things you should know about a tripod before you buy it. THE BAD: The entire product is mostly plastic, even the bottom panel. to which you attach the camera. Over time, the bottom plate…

BIG, mostly durable. There is only one problem with this tripod; Crank lifter allows for play/jitter when pivoting UNLESS set screw is tightened. On the other hand, after a puff it rotates and tilts as expected; smoothly without jerks. This was my first truly liquid panorama head, so to be honest I didn't know what to expect. I knew what I wanted - smooth panning and tilting. i think i have it Above all, I want to show how big this object can be. My height is 5 feet 8 inches; This tripod can…

A really good tripod for the price.

I'm the Public Relations Officer for the Oregon Fire Department. And this tripod changed the rules of the game. I've used a few cheap tripods over the years which luckily I got to use for a year or two before they fell apart. Lots of wear and tear riding up and down hills, thrown out of car and used in muddy/smoky conditions. will be enough for many people who are not in the professional film business. As others have noted, there is a slight lag/judder in ballhead movement. If you play with it…

Excellent quality and reliable moving head tripod for the price!

I used to have to buy several moving head tripods over 72 inches, but this Magnus VT-350 fits my Canon XA20 camcorder perfectly. Ironically, their manual even shows a Canon XA-series camcorder for illustration. I needed a tripod that was lighter but strong enough than my Sanford & Davis professional HD tripod and better built than my regular tripod. It's easy to carry your camera to trade shows or on location without breaking with HD pro tripods. But it really depends on the weight of your HD…

BIG, mostly solid. This tripod has only one scene-breaking problem; The crank jack will allow play/jitter when pivoting IF the set screw is loose. On the other hand, after a pull it rotates and tilts as expected, smoothly and without stuttering. This was my first really smooth pan head so honestly I didn't know what to expect. I knew what I wanted. - smooth panning and tilting. i think i have it Above all, I want to convey how big this thing can really be. My height is 5 feet 8 inches; This…
