I often use adapters - both step-up and step-down. I could order any size as needed and save a few bucks on that one order, but then I'd have to order a different one the next time I want to adapt my filter or reversing ring to a different lens - or if I need a 55mm filter found for a small fraction of the price of the 52mm size. This set is actually two sets as it contains both an up and down filter. Rings - cover every need I can think of. It's even sized at 43mm to fit the optional Raynox DCR-150 and DCR-250 macro lenses when I don't want to use their snap-in adapter. I have never seen this size in any other set. Each ring also came in an individual cello case. (Not folded as shown.) They were sent in a corrugated box designed for a heavy book, meaning they were well protected. No calls about delivery in a flimsy envelope! I didn't have time to try all twenty. But on visual inspection they all look fine and I'm very glad I bought this set. (This is actually the second set because I left some of my filters with adapters permanently attached.)
