This is actually a good razor for the price. Ignore any negative comments from razor snobs. These razors aren't perfectly ground and polished, and the acrylic handle is obviously underwhelming, but it keeps costs down. The acrylic handle is a bit flexible but strong and durable and easy to hold. A hollow-ground blade is good for beginners because hollow-ground blades are easy to sharpen and cut. I definitely recommend this razor for beginners. For a few dollars more you can buy the same razor with an ebony handle and metal body, but the red acrylic handle is cheaper and worth the small price. Get a 1000#/4000# whetstone, slings, and polishing compounds and you're done.
